Dreo Whole-Room Heater 715 Review
Dreo's 3D-oscillating 1,500W ceramic heater — 90° side-to-side and 60° up-and-down — with a 41–95°F thermostat, 12-hour timer, and a 34 dB fan. (Amazon lists it as the 714 / DR-HSH034; same unit.)

The verdict
The 715 is Dreo's answer to the Vornado MVH: instead of a fixed vortex, it sweeps a 1,500W PTC element through 90° of horizontal and 60° of vertical oscillation at the same time, so warm air gets pushed across the floor and then up through the seating area rather than pooling in one corner. It keeps everything the Atom One does well — a 1° digital thermostat, ECO mode, 12-hour timer, remote, child lock, tip-over and overheat shutoff, ETL listing — and adds a brushless DC motor that makes it the quietest fan heater we've come across. It costs twice what the Atom One does and no more heat comes out; you're paying for how evenly it spreads the same 1,500 watts.

What we like
- +3D oscillation (90° horizontal, 60° vertical) evens out a room instead of roasting one spot
- +Digital thermostat 41–95°F in 1° steps with ECO mode; 3 heat and 3 fan settings
- +Rated 34 dB — brushless DC motor makes it easily the quietest ceramic heater here
- +12-hour timer, remote, child lock, and an auto-dimming display
- +Tip-over and overheat shutoff, flame-retardant housing, ETL listed
What to know
- −Roughly double the price of the Atom One for the same 1,500W output
- −No app or voice control at this price — remote and panel only
- −Bigger and heavier than a desk-class ceramic box (~6.5 lb)
- −Sold under two model names (715 / 714), which makes manuals and support pages confusing
Full review
Vornado and Dreo are solving the same problem two different ways. The MVH keeps its fan fixed and relies on a vortex to circulate the room's air; the 715 physically sweeps the outlet through 90° side to side and 60° up and down, so the warm stream traces the floor, then the couch, then the far wall. In a 12×15 living room the result is similar — no hot pocket in front of the grille, no cold corner — but the Dreo gets there with more control: a 1° thermostat instead of a numberless dial, a 12-hour timer, a remote, and an ECO mode that cycles the element once the room hits the setpoint. Every plug-in heater makes 1,500 watts; the 715 just wastes less of it on the ceiling.
The other headline is noise. Dreo rates it at 34 dB, and the brushless DC motor really is a different animal from the AC fans in the Lasko towers — on low it's a soft breath, on high it's audible but not intrusive. The vertical oscillation is genuinely useful when the heater sits on the floor and you're on a sofa; horizontal-only towers aim at your ankles. Each axis can be switched off independently, which you'll do when it's on a desk. The display auto-dims and there's a child lock on the panel, a feature that has been rare below $100.
The honest question is whether it's worth twice the Atom One. If the heater lives in a bedroom or under a desk, no — the Atom One's 70° sweep is plenty and the money is better spent elsewhere. If it's going in the room the family sits in, the 715's wider reach and quieter motor earn the difference over a fixed heater, and its thermostat and timer earn it over the MVH. Safety is the full checklist (tip-over, overheat, flame-retardant shell, ETL); the rules are the same as always — wall outlet only, three feet of clearance, never unattended around small children.
Best for: Living rooms, family rooms, and home offices where you want the whole room evened out quietly — and you'd rather have a digital thermostat and timer than the Vornado's dials.
