Lasko 755320 Ceramic Tower Heater

The verdict

The 755320 is the sensible upgrade from a box heater: the same 1,500W ceramic output delivered from a tall, oscillating tower so warm air crosses a room at seated height instead of pooling near the floor. Digital thermostat, auto mode, remote, and a timer cover the convenience list, and overheat protection plus a cool-touch shell cover safety. It's not silent and it won't heat a great room, but as a living-room or bedroom supplement for well under $100, it's hard to argue with.

What we like

  • +Widespread oscillation pushes heat across a seating area instead of a single spot
  • +Digital thermostat with auto mode cycles the element to hold your temperature
  • +Remote control and 8-hour timer; two quiet settings plus high
  • +Tall form factor directs warm air at seated height
  • +Overheat protection, cool-touch exterior, 3-year warranty

What to know

  • No tip-over switch on this model — keep it on the floor and away from foot traffic
  • Fan noise is noticeable on high in a quiet room
  • Plastic remote feels cheap and is easy to misplace

Full review

Tower heaters solve a specific problem: a box heater on the floor warms your ankles and the fan's throw is short, so the far side of the couch stays cold. The 755320 oscillates from a 23-inch column, which both lengthens the throw and sweeps it across a seating area. In a typical 12×14 living room it meaningfully raises the temperature around the sofa within 15–20 minutes — it won't replace the furnace, but it lets you keep the furnace two or three degrees lower while you're in that room.

The digital thermostat and auto mode are the features that make it worth more than the box heaters. Set 70, and it runs on high until it gets there, then drops to low or off and cycles. The remote means you can nudge it from the couch, and the 8-hour timer handles movie-night-to-bedtime. Lasko's build quality on these is consistent: ours have survived several winters without a rattle.

The gap versus our top pick is control and safety polish: the Dreo's oscillation is tighter, its ECO logic is smarter, and it has a tip-over switch, which the 755320 lacks. If the heater is going in a room with kids or pets, that difference matters; if it's a living-room unit that nobody touches, the Lasko's larger throw and lower price make it the better value. Wall outlet only, three feet of clearance, and don't drape anything over it.

Best for: Living rooms and larger bedrooms where an oscillating tower can sweep heat across the seating area.
