The two default cheap ceramic heaters, now at essentially the same price. Both are 1,500W with high/low/thermostat and overheat protection; the Honeywell adds a tip-over switch, the Lasko is slightly quieter and has a fan-only mode. If the heater might get knocked over — kids, pets, a dorm — the Honeywell's tip-over switch decides it. Under an adult's desk, the Lasko's long track record and quieter fan win.
