Dreo Solaris 718 Ceramic Tower Heater Review
A design-forward conical tower with 9 comfort levels, oscillation you can dial from 30° to 120°, and a 25 dB fan — the quietest heater we've found that still uses one.

The verdict
The Solaris 718 is Dreo's answer to a heater category that's already maxed out on wattage: once every 1,500W unit makes the same heat, the difference is how the heat leaves the box. Nine comfort levels step through heat-and-fan combinations instead of a blunt high/low switch, oscillation is selectable across four widths, and the fan is rated at 25 dB — quieter than anything else fan-forced in this guide. The safety package (tip-over, overheat, child lock, V0 flame-retardant housing, ETL) matches Dreo's other heaters, so the extra money over the Atom One buys quiet and styling, not more heat or more safety.

What we like
- +9 comfort levels blend heat output and fan speed instead of a blunt high/low switch
- +Selectable 30°/60°/90°/120° oscillation aims heat narrowly or sweeps a whole room
- +Rated 25 dB — the quietest fan-forced heater in this guide, quieter than the Whole-Room 715
- +Digital thermostat (41–95°F) with ECO auto mode and a 12-hour timer
- +8-point safety system: tip-over shutoff, overheat shutoff, child lock, V0 flame-retardant housing, ETL listed
What to know
- −The most expensive space heater we carry for the same 1,500W ceiling as a $45 box heater
- −No app or voice control — remote and touch panel only
- −29.7-inch height needs floor clearance a desk-class heater doesn't
- −Conical shape is striking but won't suit every room's decor
Full review
The Solaris 718 is Dreo's answer to the question every 1,500W heater eventually runs into: once you've maxed out the wattage a wall outlet allows, the only way to stand out is to get smarter about how that heat leaves the unit. Nine 'comfort levels' step through combinations of heat output and fan speed instead of a blunt high/low switch, and the oscillation is selectable across four widths — 30°, 60°, 90°, or 120° — so it can aim narrowly at a desk chair or sweep a whole seating area. None of that changes the physics; it changes how livable the heat feels day to day.
The number that matters most is 25 dB. That's Dreo's own rating, but it lines up with the conical housing's job: a low-profile PTC element and a slower fan than the boxy towers use, wrapped in a shape that reads more like a design-forward speaker than a heater. It's the quietest fan-forced heater we carry — quieter even than the Whole-Room 715's already-hushed 34 dB — which makes it the pick for a bedroom or a home office where a fan heater's hum would otherwise be a problem. The 41–95°F digital thermostat, ECO auto mode, and 12-hour timer are the same solid basics Dreo puts on every heater in this price range.
Safety is the full eight-point checklist — tip-over shutoff, overheat shutoff, a V0 flame-retardant shell, a child lock, and ETL listing — so the extra money over the Atom One or the 715 buys quiet and styling, not a safer heater; those already have tip-over and overheat protection too. If $130 for 1,500 watts feels steep next to a $45 box heater making the identical heat, it is. But for the room where you actually notice fan noise, the Solaris 718 is the quietest way to get there — straight into a wall outlet, with the usual three feet of clearance.
Best for: Bedrooms, home offices, and living rooms where quiet, precisely aimed heat and a design-forward look matter as much as the warmth itself.
