Lasko Ellipse 18" Ceramic Tower Heater (CT18950) Review
Lasko's newer curved tower fixes the classic 755320's biggest gap — it has a tip-over switch and a child lock — plus 120° oscillation, a 12-hour timer, and a sub-40 dB fan.

The verdict
The Ellipse is what the 755320 should have become: the same 1,500W ceramic output and Lasko's 3-year warranty, now in an 18-inch curved tower with 120° of oscillation, touch controls, a 12-hour timer, a 7-function remote, AutoEco thermostat mode, and — the part that matters — a tip-over sensor and a child lock alongside the overheat cutoff. It's shorter than the 23-inch 755320 and Lasko rates it for about 200 sq ft, so it's a bedroom, office, or medium living-room heater rather than a great-room one. If the heater is going anywhere near kids or pets, this is the Lasko tower to buy.

What we like
- +Tip-over sensor, child lock, overheat protection, cool-touch housing, ETL listed
- +120° oscillation from a wide curved grille spreads heat across a seating area
- +3 heat settings, 2 fan speeds, and AutoEco mode that cycles to hold temperature
- +12-hour timer (30-min steps to 2 h, then hourly), auto-dimming display, remote with on-unit storage
- +Light (4.1 lb) with a built-in handle and a 6 ft cord; 3-year warranty
What to know
- −Shorter throw than the 23-inch 755320 — think 200 sq ft, not a big living room
- −Touch controls are easy to brush by accident (the child lock helps)
- −Fan is audible on high, as with every Lasko tower
- −Costs a little more than the older 755320 it improves on
Full review
Our long-standing knock on Lasko's 755320 tower is that it has no tip-over switch — fine for a living-room corner nobody touches, not fine for a room with a toddler or a big dog. The Ellipse is Lasko's answer. It keeps the ceramic element, the 1,500-watt ceiling, the oscillation, the remote, and the 3-year warranty, and adds a tip-over sensor, a child lock on the touch panel, and a ceramic insert plug that's designed not to overheat at the outlet. Those three things move it from 'adults only' to 'anywhere in the house.'
The curved 18-inch grille sweeps through 120°, wider than the older tower's arc, so in a 12×12 bedroom or office it evens the room out well. Three heat levels and two fan speeds run from a touch panel or a 7-function remote that stows on the back of the unit; AutoEco holds a comfortable temperature by cycling between low and off, which is the mode most people should leave it in. The 12-hour timer counts in 30-minute steps for the first two hours and hourly after that, and the display dims itself, so it works as a bedroom heater. Lasko rates the fan under 40 dB, and on low it's easy to sleep near.
Where the 755320 still wins is reach: it's five inches taller and Lasko positions it for larger rooms, while the Ellipse is rated for about 200 sq ft. For a big living room, buy the older tower and keep it out of traffic; for every other room — and every room with children — the Ellipse is the better Lasko, and the Dreo Atom One is the only thing in its price range with a comparable safety package. Plug it straight into the wall, give it three feet of clearance, and keep the oscillation path clear of curtains.
Best for: Bedrooms, home offices, and kids' rooms where you want a Lasko tower with a tip-over switch and a child lock.
